This is a one semester course.
In this elective, you will learn about the interactions between the abiotic and biotic factors of ecosystems and how organisms interact with each other. You will develop a deeper understanding of how energy flows through ecosystems and the recycling of matter within ecosystems.
You will learn about the Earth’s four interconnected spheres, the lithosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere and explore how human activity has impacted upon them.
You will develop an understanding of the importance of biodiversity and the principles of ecologically sustainable development.
This course is available to students who studied Year 9 General Science or Year 9 Science for Life.
