As we prepare to celebrate Multicultural Week from June 10 to 13, our school community is reminded of the importance of Cultural Safety—a core value that reflects both our Catholic identity and our commitment to the Child Safe Standards.
Cultural safety means creating an environment where every student feels respected, valued, and safe to express their cultural identity without fear of discrimination or exclusion. It is about listening deeply, learning from one another, and celebrating the rich diversity that strengthens our school.
In line with Child Safe Standard 1—which requires organisations to embed a culture of child safety and wellbeing—and Standard 5, which focuses on equity and respecting diverse needs, we are committed to ensuring that all students, especially those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, feel a true sense of belonging.
Throughout Multicultural Week, students will engage in activities that honour the traditions, languages, and stories of our diverse community. These celebrations are not just about food and dress—they are about building empathy, understanding, and unity within our school community.
Let us continue to walk together in faith, ensuring that our school remains a place where every child is safe, seen, and celebrated.
