The end of year Music Performance Ensemble Evening was well attended by parents, friends, and students at Kildare Theatre on Tuesday 22 November. Clonard College Principal, Mrs Luci Quinn welcomed the audience to the evening with an Acknowledgement of Wadawurrung Country. Mrs Quinn also mentioned that it was the feast of St Cecilia the patron saint of musicians and the long history of music education that the Brigidine sisters had established at Clonard College.

The night started with Year 7 Red, Yellow, and Blue performing Louie Louie conducted by Mr Allister Cox and joined by the other Year 7 instrumental teachers, Felicity McCowan, Sally Hobbs, Greg Gosbell, Samantha Robinson and Martin Greet and classroom music teacher, Ms Howard. The percussionists, flautists, woodwind, brass, and string players then all performed their solo pieces for the audience.

The String Ensemble followed, led by Felicity McCowan, then Clonard Concert Band, conducted by Allister Cox, Rock Band led by Ashley Ward and Clonard Choir directed by Ms Howard.

The Year 10 classroom music students The Yogos performed a modern classical piece and Lyra Meehan, and Molly Bowman sang Adele’s, Rolling in The Deep.

The Year 11 VET music students performed as a band, Lover and they will be performing at the upcoming Queenscliff Music Festival.

It was a great night of music enjoyed by all.
