🎺 Combined Band Day at Iona College – June 10
Our Clonard Concert Band joined forces with Iona College for a spectacular Combined Band Day, led by conductor Allister Cox. Students delivered stirring renditions of Tears in Heaven and The Man from Snowy River, before joining students from Covenant College, Sacred Heart, St Joseph’s, Belmont High and Iona College to perform two combined works conducted by Ari Farrar. Over one afternoon, students sight-read, rehearsed, and performed together — an inspiring musical exchange full of energy, collaboration, and new connections.
A huge thank you to Jodie Townsend and the Iona community for hosting such a memorable day.

Our talented Year 9 Theatre Studies students have written and created an original Murder Mystery, which they will perform for the Grade 5/6 students from Holy Spirit School on Thursday, June 26 (Periods 5 & 6). This fun and suspenseful piece highlights their creativity, teamwork, and flair for drama.
Year 10 Dance performance
This term, Year 10 Dance students created a vibrant, student-led production themed around nostalgia. Titled Just Like Yesterday, the performance featured original choreography inspired by childhood memories and pop culture moments, including primary school experiences, Rihanna’s Super Bowl show, and throwback hits like Soulja Boy.
In addition to choreography, students took full creative control over design elements, including costumes, hair, and makeup, ensuring every detail reflected their chosen concepts. The culmination of their efforts was showcased last Thursday during lunchtime, in a vibrant performance for the Year 10 cohort. The show was met with enthusiastic applause and praise, a testament to the students’ hard work!
🎫 Clonard Showcase – August 1!
Stay tuned for more exciting performances as we prepare for the annual Clonard Performing Arts Showcase on August 1, 6.00pm in Kildare Theatre. The Clonard Arts Showcase was born from a simple idea: to give students a chance to perform, have fun, and celebrate the amazing talent across our school. What started as a small idea quickly grew into a whole-school event, with students from all year levels coming together to sing, dance, and act. It has been a huge team effort, with many lunchtime rehearsals and planning sessions, and we are so proud of what we have created. Thank you to everyone who supported us – we cannot wait to share the showcase with you! – Ella P and Lily M and team.
