On Tuesday 8 April, Clonard College had the pleasure of hosting the Term 1 Holiday Program. In collaboration with the five Catholic secondary schools in Geelong, this initiative was designed to offer an enriching holiday experience for guests from Cultura, many of whom are new to the Geelong area.

We were thrilled to welcome 50 children into our community, providing them with the opportunity to connect with students from the Catholic secondary schools. The day was filled with joy as we shared a meal together and engaged in a variety of activities, including:

  • Art Activity (designing Easter baskets along with a scavenger hunt)
  • Cooking Activity (preparing chocolate truffle balls)
  • Dance Activity (external dance company taught young people dance moves and skills)
  • Outdoor Activity (participating in competitive group games)

Although there was a language barrier, both students and staff thoroughly enjoyed getting to know one another and learning about diverse cultures. It was a truly rewarding experience, and everyone left the day feeling enriched.
