Review into vocational and applied learning pathways in senior secondary schooling 

Following the Ministerial announcement regarding the future of VCAL in light of the Firth Report we wish to provide families with the assurance that we will work, as a College community, with our governing bodies to ensure that the applied learning pathways at Clonard are well supported, vibrant and authentic. 

We look forward to keeping you informed, through the next two years, about our progress in redesigning and integrating our VCAL pathway into the new senior secondary school certification program.   It will offer all students opportunities that, at this time, have not been possible.  Indeed, it is a promising future for all students which reflects, we believe, the current educational thinking about how to align pathways through schooling that meet, more fully, the requirements for young people post-secondary school. Further information will be sent to families with students who are currently in our applied learning pathways for 2021.
