Clonard College, Sacred Heart, St Joseph’s College, St Ignatius College and Iona College are uniting yet again on September 9 2022 in an effort to make poverty history. This is the fifth Tri-UMPH Festival organised and conducted by the students of the four colleges, the first was conducted in 2008 and has been a huge success ever since. It is THE biggest student run festival in Australia! The Tri-UMPH Festival hosted at St Joseph’s College will feature various local artists and live bands, a huge DJ tent with student performances on a Chill Stage nearby.

The name Tri-UMPH- an acronym for “Triennially United to Make Poverty History” our purpose for the event is to support the universal efforts to make poverty history. Specifically, we will be raising funds for East Timor with a focus on education and the training of young people from remote villages to become teachers. We are hoping to provide the necessary facilities to ensure a brighter future for the Timorese people.

The event will involve all the students from the five Colleges enjoying music from local and national sources. The festival will feature a Main Stage with live bands and soloists, a DJ stage and a Chill Out Stage showcasing local school artists. There will be Festival Fun and a wide selection of street food vans.

This year we are also proud to announce that we are a totally plastic free event. In fact, all our waste will be compostable and never leave the site to become landfill. Instead, it will be used as compost for our gardens on the property.

Students will attend school as part of any other day, e.g. a Sports Carnival wearing sports uniform. Lunch and all refreshments will be provided by food trucks catering for all dietary requirements. Should you wish not to buy food on the day our only request is that you DO NOT bring ANY plastic wrappers etc of any sort as we have only facilities for compostable not biodegradable rubbish
