Geelong Youth Council

The City of Greater Geelong is currently looking for its next Youth Council! If you’re aged 12 to 17, or know someone who is, and would like to make a difference in the community and represent your peers, you may like to nominate to be a Youth Council member in 2021.

Twelve Youth Council members will be selected with three to represent each of the four Council wards. A Junior Mayor and Junior Deputy Mayor will then be elected by the successful candidates.

As a Youth Council member you will meet once a month and advise Council on important issues like services, health, environment and inclusion. Junior members are also actively involved in the annual Geelong Youth Awards and the Councillor Connect Mentoring program.

Nominations are open until 15 November 2020 for young people in Greater Geelong aged 12 to 17. For more information on nominating and what a Youth Council member does visit www.geelongaustralia.com.au/youthcouncil/.
