High Achievers 2020
Today, our High Achievers of 2020 were celebrated during a ceremony in front of their parents and our current Year 12s. We acknowledged the outstanding achievement of students who studied at senior secondary certificates last year, in particular: students who received ATARs over 90 and those students who gained the top score in Unit 3/4 VCE subject areas and VCAL pathway.
We also presented the College DUX for 2020, Sidney Hoei, who scored an ATAR score of 99.8. Sidney as our Dux is so clearly a high achiever. Her results in the subjects that she studied last year are close to the best in the state. They are truly impressive. Congratulations, Sidney.

An excerpt from Sidney’s DUX speech:
I would like to offer some wisdom to the Class of 2021 and the rest of Clonard’s students, but it took me too long to realise that there is no ‘secret’ to a high ATAR or a good study score or even enjoying Year 12.
All I did was show up, choose subjects I enjoyed, spend time with my friends and work hard. For me, knowing I had done my best and seeing it pay off was the perfect close to my time at Clonard.
I am sure you will make your own memories, you will learn your own lessons, you will struggle to pick out a single piece of your own advice to leave behind when you have learnt so much more than you can say in a minute or two, but I wish you all the best here at Clonard. I hope you are as excited as I am for what is in front of us.

For our 2021 Year 12s who were awarded today we wish you every success this year. You know what it takes and you know you can get there. And to our current Year10 and 11 students who have commenced their senior pathways journey, be not afraid, aim high and dream great things. In our Year of Wonder, all things are possible.
