Year 8 Science classes have been exploring how Aboriginal art often takes inspiration from the natural world. Through their study of the microscope, students used microscope slides as an inspiration for a piece of art. The representation below is a pumpkin stem slide and the artwork by Amy Ingles. Amazing work.

YEAR 7 ADVANCED ENGLISH
In the Advanced Year 7 English class we are using Writer’s Notebooks to write about ourselves, our passions, and our world. We decorated our covers with things that are meaningful to us.
Author Ralph Fletcher advises writers to “Use your notebook to breathe in the air around you”. That is what we are trying to do! We’ve written about objects in our pencil cases, things we noticed from a picture, and even wrote about what our own Hogwort’s House would be like if we designed it with a name, common room, colours, and qualities of the students selected for the house.
Our Writer’s Notebooks give us a place to live like writers and use our experiences to build our senses and get our words down on paper. We are looking forward to getting in as many entries as we can this year.
