I attended Clonard College from 2008-2013. I truly loved my six years at Clonard. My fondest and happiest memories lie in my music studies. I basically lived in the music rooms!!! I’m still very grateful to the amazing music teachers who helped me find my feet, my identity in music and ignited the fire for a life in music. Shout out to Ms Cathy Wilson and my guitar teacher of 6 years Mr Stephen Hobbs.

With the help and push from my music mentors at Clonard, I transitioned out of school into the beginnings of a career as a working musician. I commenced my studies at the Australian Institute of Music, and then later the Victorian College of The Arts. During my time at college, I was fortunate enough to have some amazing performance opportunities come my way. I was gigging full time through my studies and each opportunity seemed to lead to something with even more significance. When I was 20 years old, I worked with and met Australian singer Kate Ceberano, and after a few years of smaller gigs – I landed my first high profile gig, as the guitarist in her touring band. I am now a full-time session musician, working mostly in touring, studio and musical theatre. I consider myself the luckiest girl in the world. Every waking moment is occupied by music, and I can truly say I am living my dream.

Kathleen was presented with the Loma Howell Music Award while at Clonard. This is the note in the running sheet regarding this award, “This award will come as no surprise to the audiences of the Masses, assemblies, Open Mics, Swing Nights – in fact anything we have done that has had music has usually had Kathleen. She has been an outstanding contributor to music performance over her six years at Clonard and we don’t really know what we will do without her. Thank you, Kathleen”
