To raise awareness of global poverty, promote a healthy lifestyle and raise much needed funds for Caritas Australia, Clonard College is introducing a K’s for Caritas initiative.
Between Monday May 25th and Monday June 8th the Clonard community is encouraged to go for a ride, run or walk to contribute to our target of 5000 kilometres.
Many underprivileged people, including young children, walk several kilometres each day to access fresh water, education or work. Many of the things that we take for granted.
Their journey, in some cases, can expose them to enormous risk. As a community we hope that the K’s for Caritas campaign will raise awareness of the plight of the underprivileged around the world and encourage a sense of gratitude for what we have.
Record your total kilometres walked over the 2 weeks using a mobile app such as Under Armour, Nike or Strava, screen shot images of your total kilometres over the two weeks and send to your house leader to earn points for your house in the Quarantine Cup. Donations to Caritas can be made at school in the Project Compassion boxes or online at https://lent.caritas.org.au/my-group-n#blank
