Library Lover’s Day

Library Lovers’ Day is traditionally held on Valentine’s Day each year, but this year it was celebrated on Thursday February 19 at Clonard.

Leading up to the day, there were a number of colourful displays in the library featuring books and hearts as well as messages from students and staff about why they love libraries.

On Library Lovers’ Day, an open Mic was held out the front of Clonard House alongside a Bake sale and Blind Date with a Book. A large crowd of students and staff enjoyed songs by junior and senior students and students were able to borrow a library book wrapped in brown paper so that they received a surprise when they unwrapped the book. The lunch time celebration was organised by student leaders who did a fantastic job coordinating the different elements of the day and ensured that the Clonard library would always be a library to be celebrated.
