From Tuesday 10 to Friday 13 of June, our school came alive with colour, music, food, and celebration as we marked Multicultural Week 2025.

On Tuesday, students took part in the World Map Pin activity in the Brigidine Centre, proudly marking their heritage. The foyer quickly filled with pins from all over the world; a powerful reminder of how diverse and connected we are. Moreover, students wore traditional cultural dress or added something meaningful to their sports uniform, like a flag, jersey, or national colours. Music played across the junior yard while we enjoyed delicious food from dumpling, crepes, and Mexican food trucks. The atmosphere was energetic and joyful. On Wednesday, students had the chance to take part in an African drumming workshop, which was a real highlight of the week. The sounds of the drums echoed across the school as students learnt rhythms, played instruments, and got a hands-on experience of a rich cultural tradition. Thursday featured a Greek biscuit cooking class, which filled the air with sweet smells and lots of laughter. Run by the Arts leaders and supported by Ms. McKenzie, the class gave students the chance to learn a new recipe and connect with Greek culture through food.

The week wrapped up on Friday with a Chinese lantern-making workshop and a lively Cultural Kahoot during lunchtime. Students worked together, shared laughs, and earned house points while testing their knowledge about different countries and cultures. Throughout the week, each morning began with a reflection or prayer that focused on inclusion, respect, and celebrating our shared humanity.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who made the week possible; from the Aspire, Liturgy & Identity and Arts Leaders, Student Voice Leader Ms. Ferrarese, staff, teachers, and everyone who joined in. Multicultural Week reminded us of our differences and how coming together can strengthen our community and accentuate our college theme, hospitality.
