Timor‑Leste Intercultural Immersion
Annually – Year 11 students – 10 days (Term 2 Holidays)
Clonard College offers an annual Timor‑Leste Intercultural Immersion for a small group of Year 11 students, building on a long standing partnership with communities in Dili, Baucau and Viqueque through the Geelong Viqueque Friendship Schools (GVFS) network. Typically involving around eight students, the immersion takes place mid year including school holidays (June–July) for approximately 10 days. Students engage deeply with local schools, community organisations and faith communities, gaining insight into the history, culture and contemporary realities of Timor‑Leste. The experience emphasises solidarity, education, service and global citizenship, inviting students to reflect on privilege, resilience and social justice in light of the Kildare Ministries values. The approximate cost is $3,800–$4,200 per student, covering international travel, accommodation, transport, meals and program costs.

Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte) Immersion
Annually dependent on the community – Year 10 students – 7 Days (August)
Clonard College also offers a highly respected Santa Teresa Immersion for Year 10 students, undertaken in partnership with the Ltyentye Apurte (Santa Teresa) community, located approximately 80 km south east of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. Each year, around eight students participate in this one week immersion, usually held in August. The experience is based on invitation and relationship, offering students the opportunity to learn with and serve alongside the local community through classroom support, community care initiatives, shared cultural learning and spiritual reflection. This immersion is not a tour, but a deeply respectful entry into community life that nurtures empathy, cultural understanding, reconciliation and personal growth, aligned with Clonard’s Catholic identity and Kildare Ministries charism. The approximate cost is $2,600 per student, inclusive of flights, accommodation, transport, meals and activities.

France Study Tour
2027 and 2029 – Year 10, 11, 12 students – 13 Days (Term 1 Holidays)
Clonard College offers a French Cultural Immersion for students in Years 10, 11 and 12, undertaken in partnership with Marian College Ararat and supported by World Strides. The program is conducted at the end of Term 1 into the school holidays and typically involves 20–25 students travelling to Paris and the Lyons region for approximately 13 days. Designed to promote authentic language use and cultural understanding, the immersion enables students to engage with France’s rich history, artistic traditions, religious heritage and contemporary culture. Through visits to iconic historical sites, museums, cathedrals and regional communities, students deepen their intercultural awareness, confidence and independence while developing global perspectives. The approximate cost is $6,700–$7,000 per student, inclusive of flights, accommodation, transport, most meals and educational programming.

Indonesia Study Tour
2028 and 2030 – Year 10, 11, 12 students – 10 Days (Term 1 Holidays)
Clonard College offers an Indonesian Study Tour for students in Years 10, 11 and 12, delivered in partnership with the Australian Consortium for In‑Country Indonesian Studies (ACICIS). The program is proposed as a 10‑day immersion, typically scheduled for the holidays at the end of Term 1, and involves approximately 20 students based in Yogyakarta. The tour places language learning at its centre, with students participating in structured Indonesian language classes each morning, followed by immersive cultural, educational and community based experiences in the afternoons. By living locally, attending school visits and engaging with Indonesian social, religious and cultural contexts, students develop linguistic confidence, intercultural understanding and global awareness. The program supports students to grow in independence, adaptability and empathy. The anticipated cost is approximately $5,000 per student, inclusive of airfares, accommodation, transport, tuition and program activities.

Japan Study Tour
Annually from 2027 – Year 10, 11 students – 12 Days (Term 3 Holidays)
Clonard College offers a Japanese Study Tour for students in Years 10 and 11, undertaken in partnership with Marian College Ararat and supported by the Australian Institute of International Understanding (AIIU). The program is planned for the September school holidays and involves approximately 20 students travelling for 11 nights / 12 days through Tokyo, Kyoto, Miyama, Nara and Hiroshima. The immersion emphasises intercultural understanding, peace education and experiential learning through school visits connected to our Japanese school partnerships, rural farm stays, shared cultural practices and encounters with Japan’s religious traditions and historical sites. Students engage deeply with themes of history, justice and reconciliation, particularly through learning in Hiroshima, while also experiencing everyday Japanese life through homestays and community connection. The program fosters confidence, curiosity and global citizenship, aligned with Clonard’s commitment to wonder, compassion, courage and hospitality. The indicative cost is approximately $6,000 per student, covering international travel, accommodation, transport and educational experiences.
