At the start of Term 2, Ms Dalton, along with the coaches, came together to form four groups to compete in School Aerobics in Melbourne. There were many of the old faces from other years and some new ones. The students would train twice a week during lunch, then it was almost every lunchtime as the competition approached.
School Aerobics requires a demanding time commitment and cooperation as a group. Both the students and coaches raised the level of performance with each practice as they learnt and tweaked the routine. The dedication to this school sport involves sacrificing lunchtime for the students and pushing their bodies to the limit in order to improve and be the best they can be on competition day. It was also a lot of fun working with friends and peers and laughing at ourselves at times too, as we tried different choreography and shared ideas.
A special thanks to Ms Dalton for her endless support and organisation for Aerobics as well as the coaches (Natalie, Bailee, Eve, Yu-Ru and Danielle) for putting in so much time in and out of school hours, and for supporting the students through the development of their routines with patience and expertise.
Well done to all the teams for representing Clonard at the competition and doing themselves and the school proud.
Two of our teams received a second and third place in their sections, which is a great result!
