Shrove Tuesday Success: Students Raise Funds for Caritas
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent Shrove Tuesday event, where our Year 11 VCE Vocational Major students, who are applied learning students, came together to cook delicious pancakes for the entire school community. Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, is the day before Lent begins. Traditionally, it is a day to use up rich ingredients like eggs and milk before the fasting period of Lent, which is why pancakes are commonly made.
This event was not only a wonderful experience but also a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for Caritas, a charity that works hand in hand with the most marginalised communities in Australia and overseas to confront the challenges of poverty.
Our students worked collaboratively, showcasing their teamwork and communication skills as they planned, prepared, and served pancakes. Throughout the event, they demonstrated excellent time management, problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills, ensuring everything ran smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, they handled donations with great care, showcasing their financial management skills.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts not only provided a fun and engaging experience for everyone but also made a meaningful contribution to a worthy cause.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire school community for your generous support. Your participation and donations have made a significant impact to support Caritas.
