Term 1 Interschool Sport Report
SCSA TRIATHLON
Our first interschool sporting event for the year was the SCSA Triathlon. Held on Tuesday 25th Feb a team of Junior, Intermediate and Senior students went to Eastern Beach Geelong to participate in the competition against other Victorian girls’ schools. The weather conditions were perfect on the day for the swim, run and ride. Each student competed well resulting in the Juniors placing 6th, Intermediates placing 6th and Seniors placing 4th.
Congratulations to Ruby Downes who placed 9th and Aifric Aiken placing 10th. Both girls received a medal for placing in the top 10 Seniors.
SCSA TENNIS
On Tuesday, March 10th the 3 teams of girls participated in the SCSA Tennis Tournament. This year it was Clonard’s turn to host the event which was held at Geelong Lawn Tennis Club. The girls competed in Division 1 this year, resulting in the competition being of a high standard. Overall the girls played exceptionally well Junior Team placing 5th, Intermediate Team placing 5th and the Senior Team placing 3rd.
GISSA SWIMMING AND DIVING
Our final interschool event for Term 1 was GISSA Swimming. This was held at Kardinia Pool on Thursday the 12th of March against several other Geelong Independent schools. We are currently still awaiting the results for the swimming but have the results of the diving; Annabelle Stacey came an amazing 1st place in the under 14 diving championships.
