What’s been happening around the College?
Maintenance
The maintenance team have continued their work around the College grounds. Working to keeping them safe and tidy, especially with the change in weather and the falling leaves from the maple trees.
Karen has taken up the challenge of re-planting the green wall in the Brigidine Centre. A new task and some new skills acquired we think it has never looked this good! Awesome work, Karen thanks for bringing some life back to it.
Some new signage has also been installed around the school with our new branding and information. The signs also list new building titles (eg: Build A) that support our emergency management plans that Chris is also working on at the moment.
ICT Department
The IT crew are busy supporting teachers and students as they navigate our new way of learning. From laptop repairs, software upgrades, troubleshooting, upskilling workshops, timetabling alterations, maintenance of infrastructure and so much more the IT team has been our backbone!
Fortunately, most staff and students have found their rhythm and are requiring less support as they have started sharing their own tips and tricks. We hope our IT team know how much we appreciate their dedication in supporting all of us to be digitally fluent!
Library
It’s a bit different in the Brigidine Centre at the moment but l can share with you there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes.
Lots of new books have been catalogued and will be ready for students to borrow on return. Some exciting new Graphic Novels have also been added to the collection. Check out the catalogue at home and drop covers to your basket and add to your favourites list. On your return, you can look at your favourites list and borrow your books – simple, and you will never forget what titles you wanted to read!
New editions of magazines are also continuing to arrive. Does anyone like dance, food, or media magazines? There is also a great selection of teenage magazines including the latest editions of Frankie, teen Breathe and KIT. Card games and games are being replenished and some new jigsaw puzzles are on the way. New displays are being added, and the Year 8 humanities “Coastal Landforms” and VCAL work are still on display in the foyer and also in the library.
