This Semester the Year 10 Black Tracks class have been exploring First Nation History and Culture. On Monday 18 March students had the privilege of visiting Narana Aboriginal Culture Centre. Here the students gathered with Aunty Kerry and were immersed into First Nation culture and the importance of country. Students shared a Bush Tucker morning tea and sampled some traditional foods such as lemon myrtle yogurt, damper and crocodile. They listened to stories on how indigenous plants and seeds have been used for thousands of years for a variety of uses. The students then fed some of the animals including a very friendly emu! We finished our educational session with boomerang throwing which was a heap of fun!
