Last Friday our Year 10 students made and cooked up some amazing burgers as part of their Ethical Protein Burger Challenge Assessment Task.
I overheard one say, “This is the best thing we’ve made so far!”
As part of this project, we have been studying how various proteins are produced in Australia with an extra focus on sustainability and ethics. The students also had to take into consideration the Australian Dietary Guidelines. They were able to choose their own protein and all the added components of their burgers. The food prac room smelt amazing as they were being prepared and the students certainly enjoyed them for their lunch – wonderful work!
