Year 7 Humanities students have been working in groups on a deep learning project around the topic of Water. They have spent the last two weeks researching an issue with a choice to develop an awareness campaign, a sustainable water environment, a water-saving device or a model/response to a significant hydrological hazard, to demonstrate their learning.

The purpose of the deep learning project is to provide the conditions for students to be curious, collaborative and independent learners as well as thoughtful, productive, active citizens in society.

Year 7s have been guided in their learning but also have the agency to choose the direction of their project which ensures knowledge and understanding become meaningful and the skills developed are transferable to other subject areas and experiences.

We can’t wait to show you what they have achieved and look forward to displaying the finished products in the Brigidine Centre in early Term 2.
