On 23 August Clonard College sent a representative table of students and staff to attend the Annual Bis Sport Breakfast at GMHBA Stadium. This breakfast gathers business supporters and stakeholders from around Geelong to raise money for Barwon Sports Academy (BSA).
BSA sponsors young people around Geelong, including several students from Clonard, to pursue their sports passions and dreams when selected for State and/or National sporting teams.
Guest Speakers for the morning included Diana Taylor (Geelong Football Club) talking about planning for success – setting short and long term goals, and Damian Bourke (former Geelong Football Club Captain) who shared his personal experiences whilst climbing Mt Everest, and the resilience and grit needed to push through this challenge. Some of Geelong’s local young athletes who are currently sponsored by BSA also spoke about their recent sporting successes. It was a very inspiring morning, and Clonard was pleased to be a part of this wonderful event in 2023.
