Our Swimming Carnival was held Friday the 21st of February. The day was a little cool but our students rallied behind their leaders. Hot chips and gravy were a popular choice from the canteen!! The setting up of the House areas was underway early with Student Leaders keen to give their Houses the best opportunity of winning the overall House Spirit trophy.
A colourful and fiercely contested carnival followed with students giving their all either in the pool or singing and chanting.
There were 4 school records broken on the day. Year 7 50 m Freestyle Sienna McInnes with an impressive time of 29 seconds flat and Sienna also broke the 50m Breastroke with a time of 41.18. The Year 7 diving record was broken not once but twice on the day. Tayla Boden equalled the previous best of 95.90 points. However, Annabelle Stacey later set a fantastic new record with a score of 115.75.
The winner of the Clonard Gift (fastest 10 swimmers of the meet) was ChloeGrcic. Chloe also won the Open 100m freestyle, Open 200m Individual Medley and the Open Butterfly events. Congratulations to Chloe who is in her final Year at Clonard.
