Clonard College hosted the Evatt Model UN competition this year, it was held on Monday 31 July. Students from St Joseph’s College Geelong, and Kardinia International College, as well as Clonard, participated in the event.
Each team in the competition represents a different nation, who convene and debate resolutions. The resolutions that were tabled were the regulation of social media, and the legality of military exercises in disputed territories. A third impromptu resolution was also tabled. Students debate these matters based on what would be done in the UN General Assembly. Points are awarded with the opportunity for progress to the next round for the winning team. We wish our Clonard teams all the best and await the results.
