It’s that time of year again! From this coming week until the end of the year (December 8), the Clonard Social Justice team are running our annual BASP Christmas Food Drive and fundraising for refugees and asylum seekers in our community. The Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project (BASP) supports and collaborates with refugees and asylum seekers.

Many refugees and asylum seekers accepted into Australia are on a temporary VISA that does not allow them to be employed or receive government support. Therefore, organisations like BASP are their only source of food and basic necessities – they’re reliant on the kindness of strangers! The Clonard Social Justice team have organised a Christmas food drive to collect the necessities to help out refugee and asylum seeker families doing it tough this year. All donations will go directly to BASP.

Please consider donating money if you cannot donate food, as BASP is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation in desperate need of funds to continue to support those in need.

We ask that Clonard families do what they can to donate money or any items from the above list to make someone’s Christmas a little more special.

Thank you in advance!
