On Thursday after school, 24 student volunteers (from Years 9 – 12) worked for 90 minutes straight in our Food Tech kitchens, making multiple meals of Shepherd’s Pie and Vegetable Shepherd’s Pie as part of our “Community Cook-Up” initiative.
Each of the volunteer students brought along $5.00 each to cover the costs of the cook up – so their donation was of both time and money, in the true spirit of volunteering, compassion and social justice!!
These meals will be frozen ready for any community members in need of a meal!! Thank you to all wonderful students, the staff who volunteered to help out (Ms Taylor, Mrs Talbot and Mr McCallum) and to Ms Sarah Elmer who ordered in all ingredients and set up the recipes for the cook up!!
