We’ve had a great Term in the Music Program. Music is great for students’ wellbeing and it’s been an amazing coming together in a celebration of music and connectedness amongst students.

Music Clubs
Karaoke continues to be held each Wednesday at lunchtime in the Music room and has been well attended every week.

The Open Mic will return in Term 4 with better weather, for those wanting to give it a go.

The Rock Band also began in Term 3, with Ashley Ward.

Concert Band
The Clonard Concert Band are performing at the Geelong Show on October 14th with Allister Cox, conducting.

Choir
The Clonard Choir performed at the St Brigid’s Day Liturgy and at the Iona College Opening Mass today and will be doing other performances locally in Term 4.

String Ensemble
This week, our Clonard String Ensemble performed at the Southern Cross Montessori Kinder in Leopold for the children with their teacher, Felicity McCowan.

Music Program
The Year 12s have been busy rehearsing, playing, and singing, in preparation for their Graduation mass in St Mary’s Basilica in October.

Congratulations to Year 11 Music student, Maria Glass will be performing at St Mary’s Basilica with the Geelong Chorale for the Passion of St John, by J.S. Bach, 7 October.

We will also showcase our Year 7 musicians and Year 10 musicians studying music this semester and their wonderful talent.

Our VET music students and singer/songwriters performed last week on the outdoor stage for Tri-UMPH Lite and brought the house down!

Instrumental Program
There will be two performances next term for parents. A Private Students Music Evening in Week 5 next Term, November 3 at 5.00pm and then an Ensemble Musical Evening in Week 8, November 22 at 5.00pm with our Choir, Clonard Band, String Ensemble and Rock Band all performing.

Stay tuned for more musical updates!
