On Friday 26 August , as part of the Wellbeing curriculum, Year 10 students participated in a workshop presentation by Project Rockit called REWRITE – Smashing Judgment and Labels. It was a powerful opportunity for our Year 10 students to develop literacy and understand how they can take action on diversity, prejudice, discrimination and unconscious bias. Skills and knowledge gained by students will allow them to have strengths in the following ways:

  • Developed a greater literacy about issues of discrimination, prejudice and social inclusion
  • Built awareness of privilege and empathy for people with lesser heard voices, as well as cultivated self-empathy for their own experiences of marginalisation
  • Identified avenues for allyship and are empowered to take action to combat peer-based and broader discrimination
