Brigid’s Garden Observations

During remote learning Brigid’s Garden Program have been able to meet in Brigid’s Garden for a shortened program on Wednesday morning. This week we noticed lots of changes while doing our weekly observations. These are some of the sentences created by the students.

Garden observations Wednesday 19th August 2020

The spring onions were looking good today.

The broccoli seedlings are growing well.

There are four purple carrot seedlings in the raised garden beds.

In the secret garden we found the maintenance team has built a chicken run.

The rain came and we had to go inside.

We saw the daffodil flowers.

The snow peas had grown. They tasted juicy but a little sour.

Sienna, Catie, Deb and Ruby helped water the garden beds next to the classroom.

The Almond tree has some buds showing.

With it being a rainy morning, the girls shared Power Point presentations they had prepared and we looked at the Life Cycle of a Plant. We looked more closely at the Life Cycle of a Sunflower and had an example of a sunflower head full of seeds to look at. We will harvest and collect these seeds ready for planting
