Clonard draw with St Joseph’s

College Westcourt invited our Year 9’s to have lunch at their campus and then take part in an exhibition netball match.

SJC vs CC was the format selected and spots on the team were hard to come by, with so many fantastic netballers putting their hand up. There were 11 girls selected to play and they all played to the best of their ability. Scores were tight all game with the boys taking a small lead early in the first quarter but the girls applying the pressure and hitting the lead in the final quarter. A controversial end to the game when the clock was shut off with scores tied at 17 – 17 and the final goal to St Joseph’s being dis-allowed, resulting in a draw.

All in all, it was a well fought out game played in the right spirit and to celebrate International Women’s Day. Thank you to all staff and students who participated and made the game a huge success. Further thanks to St Joseph’s College for inviting Clonard to be part of their International Women’s Day celebrations.
