VCE Outdoor & Environmental Studies Camp

The VCE Outdoor and Environmental Studies students enjoyed a three day camp last week in the Otways and on the Surf Coast.

Over three days the students explored and developed their mountain biking skills on the famous trails in Forrest. They were lucky enough to spot a platypus in the wild when canoeing at Lake Elizabeth (and saw the glow worms at night). The trip finished with a refreshing surf lesson at Anglesea Beach on Friday.

In addition the students developed and refined their lightweight camping skills such as pitching and sleeping in two-person tents, cooking nutritious and flavoursome meals on Trangia stoves and staying warm and dry in challenging conditions.

Most importantly they had three days of digital detox and connected with the outdoor environment!
